Award winning  film director and broadcast television producer, Gilbert Allan is at the production helm of  Reyjax Media Inc.  Gil has been in the performing arts since he was a child.  He has worked in film, television, radio and the theatrical stage he loves so much. Thirty-three years as a professional director have taken him into a number of different areas of artistic expression.

Known in the artistic community as an “actor’s director”,  Gil himself has performed in 34 professional stage productions (twenty-two  leading
characters),  acted in over 100 commercials, appeared in numerous television and video/film roles and has been in six feature films.    

The former Senior, Writer/Producer/Director at CTV Edmonton and special projects  Producer/Director with Global TV has written, produced and directed over 3000 television commercials.Gil directed the feature motion pictures “Winter Kill,  HALO, Cat’s Cradle, Unfinished Business & Green Eyes”.   

 

Training films, corporate videos, Infomercials, interstitials,  television specials, promotional films, and other broadcast programming make up the body of Gil’s work along with his many stage productions.  As one of the city’s top advertising and marketing professionals Gil is no stranger to mixed media promotions. 

 

A former commercial fashion photographer and talent scout, Gil is a currently in post-production with the TV pilots, “Scrappers” and in early pre-production on a feature film, “Off Season”.

Gil continues to teach acting and motion picture production at King’s University College as a sessional instructor. The former adjunct professor from Concordia University Edmonton (Drama Dept. was an “in house” film and stage director for the university.) He also served as the V.P. of Communications and the Creative Director at Concordia Collegiate Prep for the same 10 year period and even taught Theatre Arts at Taylor University College on an interim basis.

 

Currently Gil has returned to freelance producing and is thrilled to be part of the Associates on the  iMac Team .
